Clarence Farm, 1952
Timmy, with Auntie Mary and Uncle Syd, Anthony, Wendy and Marilyn in the pram in the summer of 1952 at Clarence Farm in Priory Lane on the Bank of England Sports Ground.
The dog was a black and white Springer Spaniel named Timmy I think. He kept running away and had to be collected from the police station fairly regularly!
Just for the record, there were two types of chestnut tree growing in the sports ground (see the photo of Marilyn in the garden at Bank Lane). Those on the bank in that picture were Sweet or eating Chestnut. The Horse Chestnut trees grew just in front of our house at Clarence Farm. Every year on my birthday those invited to the party had great fun picking up the conkers!
