1963. 2i's Coffee Bar, Soho.

Old Compton Street is waking up. In the coffee shop, Franco is grinding some beans, rich smells are wafting up from his first brew of the day. Across the street Pablo and Mike are cleaning up the 2i's cafe. Pablo from Portugal and Mike from Canada, both musicians, have finished washing the floor and cleaning the tables and stand outside for a smoke. I give them a wave and go down for coffee and to listen to some new sounds on the Jukebox; Doris Troy, Bob & Earl, Dobie Gray, someone puts on The Chiffons, One Fine Day.
